For over 75 years, the USO has been the nation’s leading organization to serve the men and women in the U.S. military, and their families, throughout their time in uniform. From the moment they join, through their assignments and deployments, and as they transition back to their communities, the USO is always by their side. The reach of the USO’s 180 locations extends to countries on every continent except Antarctica, operated by thousands of staff and volunteers whose goals are to match our service members’ vigilance and provide best-in-class service to those who sacrifice so much for America. The USO is not part of the federal government. A congressionally chartered, private organization, the USO relies on the generosity of individuals, organizations and corporations to support its activities, and is powered by a family of volunteers to accomplish our mission of connection.

In Houston, the USO will serve over 100,000 local and transient military service members and their families at our four centers and community programs this year. Houston is home to a joint reserve base, countless national guard and reserve units, active duty coast guard and recruiting stations for each of the 5 branches. We serve these 8,000 actively serving military and their families with programming focused on: 1. Family Strengthening, 2. Health, Wellness & Resiliency, 3. Education, Employment & Reintegration, 4. Comforting & Connecting Centers. With your help we will be able to continue to expand our programs in Houston and across the world.

Here in Houston we do 100% of our own fundraising for local centers and programs that serve Houston’s military and their families. Our golf tournament historically raises 1/3 of our operating budget for the year. It’s thanks to people like you that we can continue to serve those who serve us.
