About Us

Since 1941, the USO has strengthened America’s active Armed Forces members (Active Duty, National Guard & Reservists) by keeping them connected to family, home, and country throughout their service to the nation. In Houston, the USO provides programs and services to nearly 150,000 military members and their families per year, who participate in programs and visit the USO Houston Centers at Bush Intercontinental Airport, Hobby Airport, and the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) in downtown Houston.

USO Houston serves the over 10,500 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, Space Force Guardians, and their families who are based in Greater Houston. From the moment they enlist at MEPS, throughout their travels in the airports, on bases across the world, and through their transition into civilian life following military service with our Transition Program, the USO is here For The People Who Serve!

The USO is here for those who need us the most: our service members and military families; the military in transition; and our families of the fallen. Globally and locally, the USO provides programming that UNITES, DELIVERS, ENTERTAINS, and TRANSITIONS.

The USO is not part of the federal government. A congressionally chartered, highly rated 501©(3) charitable organization, the USO relies on the generosity of individuals, organizations, and corporations to support its activities, and is powered by a family of volunteers to accomplish our mission of strength and connection. The USO’s most recent financial statements are available publicly at USO.org and our tax ID number is 13-1610451.
