Make a Lasting Impact

We believe every American military service member deserves to be strengthened by connection during their time in service… and to do that, we need your help!

Planned Giving

You don’t have to be a millionaire to make a powerful impact and support heroes for generations to come.

Giving is a way to honor the sacrifice and commitment of our selfless service men and women and thank them for all they do. There are a number of affordable, convenient ways for you to make an impact on the USO’s mission:

  • Wills and Living Trusts
  • Non-Cash Assets
  • Individual Retirement Account (IRA) Donations
  • Life Insurance and Financial Account Beneficiary Designations
  • Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)
  • Appreciated Securities
  • Real Estate
  • Charitable Remainder Trust
  • Charitable Lead Trust
  • Charitable Gift Annuity

Learn how you can make a difference to our service members and their families through Planned Giving, or contact Kim Rutherford, Senior Director of Planned Giving, 703-579-0845.

Monthly and Annual Monetary Donations help the USO to continue providing our core amenities including phone calls, internet, snacks & a comfortable oasis for our service members and families as they visit in our centers at all our locations.

We gratefully welcome donations in support of the USO mission — they can be mailed to: USO Houston P.O. Box 34040 Houston, TX 77234

Corporate Giving via Sponsorships enable the USO to offer meaningful programs. For an up to date list of Corporate Sponsorships available, including benefits, contact USO Houston Director, Heather Krauss at hkrauss@uso.org or 210-331-8133.

Corporate Engagement can also mean hosting a workplace fundraiser or awareness campaign for the USO. Help your employees give back to those who have given so much to our country! Need ideas?

Direct, Online Donation Contributions made via the USO Houston website will prompt a tax-deduction receipt to be sent directly to your e-mail address.

  1. Hosting a 5k race (run/walk) at your facility in Houston with donations to USO from runners and those they get to contribute. Could do a Virtual Racer for other locations.
  2. Healthy Snack drive for USO Houston centers
  3. BBQ for the Troops – Host a BBQ at your location(s), donations would then be issued to the local USO in support of furthering the organizational mission
  4. Host a Push-Up Challenge honoring our military and post via social media or sign a banner in the office.

Schools and Educators can get involved by educating your youth about the USO and the uniquely American tradition of celebrating and honoring our military by standing behind the people who serve. Most young Americans (under 30) who have not served do not even recognize the USO logo or know what the USO has done since WWII. You can change that! Ideas:

  1. Healthy Snack Drive for local USO Centers
  2. Change for Troops - have a change jar for students to learn about the spirit of philanthropy.
  3. Host a “PT” Military Physical Training challenge with Push-Ups, Sit-Ups & a Run. Parents & family could pledge to donate based on their student’s “score”.
  4. Invite a USO Speaker to come to your school

A Lasting Tribute Leadership Council giving is a multiyear approach to planned giving to the USO via pledge in amounts of $10,000 and above that allow the USO to plan for expansion into far reaching areas of the world where our troops are headed each year.

For more information about giving to the USO and the impact your gift makes please contact USO Houston Director Heather Krauss at hkrauss@uso.org at anytime or call at 210-331-8133.

We sincerely thank you for considering supporting the American Military via the USO.
