A Pledge to Serve: Mass Swear-In Ceremony at Houston MEPS
On December 30, 2024, the halls of the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) in Houston, Texas, echoed with the powerful words of the Oath of Enlistment as approximately 100 applicants took a defining step in their journey to serve.
With pride and determination, these young men and women swore their commitment to defend and uphold the Constitution, marking the beginning of their service in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Among them, 79 recruits prepared to leave that very day, heading straight to their respective basic training programs—a journey that will transform them into the next generation of America’s armed forces.
This moment was more than just a ceremony—it was a testament to their dedication, courage, and willingness to stand for something greater than themselves. Surrounded by fellow enlistees, MEPS staff, and supporters, these future service members took a bold step forward, embracing the challenges and responsibilities that come with wearing the uniform.
As they embark on this new chapter, the USO and the military community stand behind them, ready to support them every step of the way. Congratulations to all who took the oath—we salute you!
